The Team
Eagle’s Wings Flight School is managed by a volunteer Board of Directors comprised of a diverse group of individuals who are committed to investing in the lives of young people. Our team is made of the following people:
Josh Cordery – Chair of the Board; RCAF Instructor Pilot.
Josh has a passion to share his love for aviation with young people, especially those who never thought it would be an option for themselves. He possesses the highest level instructional category awarded by the RCAF on rotary wing aircraft and has a commercial fixed wing license and over 1000 hrs of instruction.
Ken Baker – EWFS Director; KF Aero Flight Instructor; Chairman,
YFC Portage Board.
Ken possesses the highest instructor rating awarded by Transport Canada and several thousand hours teaching flying at the entry level. Ken brings technical expertise as well as a commitment to removing barriers that might prevent or hinder any young person from having equal opportunities and a hope for their future.
Ashley Ozunko – EWFS Director; Dakota Ojibway Child & Family Services Local Committee Member; Dakota Plains First Nation
Ashley has several years experience working with families and youth under the umbrella of CFS, as well she recently completed her Bachelor of Education and will enter the classroom full time this September as a teacher. Ashley’s personal commitment to life long learning, and her understanding and experience with the many barriers that at-risk youth face bring invaluable insight and direction to our team.
Jason Siemens – EWFS Secretary; High School Math Teacher, Westpark School.
Jason is enthusiastic about education and he brings a career’s worth of classroom experience to this team. His heart to love and encourage those who are marginalized is evident in all that he does.
Anne-Marie Anderson – EWFS Treasurer; Chartered Professional Accountant.
Anne Marie has dedicated her career to working with Indigenous communities in our region in the area of finance. Her strengths in building relationships, and her enthusiasm for cultural diversity and education are a valuable asset to our group.
Evan Lilley: EWFS Director; Male Youth Chief, Southern Chiefs’ Organization Youth Council; Community Connector, Portage Community Revitalization Corporation.
Evan recently graduated from the University of Winnipeg with a degree in Criminal Justice/Political Science and his heart for justice was displayed through his work with marginalized communities and individuals in Winnipeg’s downtown core as a former Downtown Watch Ambassador. Evan is a leader among his generation and he represents them well in our group.
Ashleigh Cordery: EWFS Program Coordinator
Ashleigh has a background in sales, marketing and finance, experience with volunteer-based programming, and a passion for administration. She is excited about our mission and we’re thankful to have her working behind the scenes.
